Santa Monica Democratic Club To Host Hotel Development Meeting Wednesday:

The Santa Monica Democratic Club has announced new speakers at its upcoming Wednesday meeting to discuss pending hotel proposals in the city and the status of negotiations for living wage agreements.

Other implications and impacts of the pending applications will also be discussed by the membership.

Melanie Luthern, Unite/HERE Local 11, will update the group on current negotiations, work yet to be done, and how residents can support living wage agreements.

Councilman Kevin McKeown will moderate, providing both recent information regarding hotel proposals and historical perspective.

A Q&A period will conclude the presentation.

The meeting will be held from 7 pm to 9 p m on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Mt. Olive Community Room, 1343 Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica.

The public is invited, no charge, free parking, on major bus line, and light refreshments will be served.
