A Cardio Barre studio is now open in Santa Monica, offering high energy, no impact exercise classes that combine barre work and light weights to transform bodies and empower minds.
The franchise comes to the Westside nearly 13 years after founder Richard Giorla came up with the Cardio Barre® concept.
The studio will be run by managing partners Lauren Faretta and Tamara Hakim.
Essential to the workout are toning and resistance exercises for the buttocks, legs, torso and arms to sculpt muscles and elongate the appearance of your body through continual fat burning motion. No kicking, no punching, no jumping up and down, just exercises that lengthen and strengthen your muscles.
Both being Cardio Barre enthusiasts, Faretta and Hakim hope to transform the bodies and lives of Santa Monicans with the workout that people are calling a muscle-sculpting sensation. The ladies believe in the method so much that they fought for four years to get their franchise open.
“We stuck through an extremely challenging process for four years to get Cardio Barre Santa Monica up and running,” Faretta said. “We had every door shut in our face and many people told us to give up. Yet we persisted and followed our instincts. When you want something and work hard to get it, it is then when you see the miracle come to life. That is exactly what Cardio Barre represents.”
Hakim has seen the positive effects of the workout through eight years of Cardio Barre experience and says she can’t wait to transform and unite the community.
“Cardio Barre has really given me the opportunity to change lives,” Hakim said. “I’ve seen people gain so much confidence and strength (both mental and physical) in just the first few weeks of our opening. I’m so thankful and excited to share this workout with Santa Monica.”
