Santa Monica police arrested a 27-year-old man on Thursday, Jan. 2 after an argument with his girlfriend at their workplace escalated to a physical fight.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1400 block of Fourth Street at 4 am on this day in order to investigate a domestic violence report.
Upon arrival the officers spoke with the female victim who told them that she and her boyfriend were working together at the same location when they had disagreed about something (common).
The disagreement had led to an argument (equally common) but had turned ugly when the boyfriend physically assaulted the woman (less common).
The woman continued to say that the boyfriend had grabbed her hair and taken her to the ground, followed up with some slapping.
The girlfriend said she had been able to escape and had then called the police.
The officers searched for the boyfriend and found him shortly afterwards.
This man was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Bail was set at $20,000.
