Since 1963 OPCC (formerly Ocean Park Community Center), has served as a safety net for the most needy in our community: low-income and homeless youth, adults and families, at-risk youth, battered women and their children and people living with mental illness in Santa Monica and on the Westside of Los Angeles.
The agency has served thousands of adults and youth during the past fifty years.
These services and the success of the programs would not be possible without an extremely dedicated staff and hundreds of volunteers assisting OPCC in meeting the needs of individuals and families who accessed OPCC services to change their lives.
OPCC is a community-supported organization in which staff, volunteers and clients work together with mutual respect to address the effects of poverty, abuse, neglect and discrimination.
This year we are celebrating OPCC’s 50 years of empowering people to rebuild their lives with dignity.
In the fall of 2014 former clients, volunteers and staff will come together to reunite, share stories and celebrate the family that is OPCC.
According to John Maceri, OPCC’s Executive Director, “We are honored and excited to celebrate our organization’s fifty year history with the people who made the journey possible…staff, volunteers and our clients. We look forward to seeing as many as possible at the fall reunion.”
If you are a former client, volunteer and/or staff member and also know of others are part of the OPCC family, email OPCC at celebrate@opcc.net.
