A tennis racquet wielding homeless woman was arrested on Monday, May 26 after spitting at a parking structure attendant who was just doing their job.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a radio call at 2:40 pm on this day informing them that a woman had spat on somebody in the parking structure located at 1502 Fourth Street.
The officers responded and found the suspect in the 400 block of Broadway Avenue.
The suspect was swinging a tennis racquet at passers-by.
The officers apprehended the suspect in the 500 block of Broadway Avenue and then met with the victim, who happened to be a parking lot attendant.
The victim told the officers that the woman had spat at him as he was stopping pedestrian traffic in order to allow cars to enter the parking structure.
He added that the spit had landed on his face.
The officers arrested this homeless woman and she was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.
