Two people walked in front of a car and were injured as they left a popular Malibu restaurant early this morning, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. in front of the Moonshadows Malibu restaurant in the 20300 block of Pacific Coast Highway, said Sgt. Shawn Ruda of the Malibu Sheriff’s Station.
“The pedestrians had been drinking,” Ruda said. They walked in front of the car which struck them, resulting in injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
They were transported by ground ambulance to a hospital, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz.
Pacific Coast Highway was closed about 30 minutes for cleanup and investigation, Ruda said.
The car’s driver stopped after the accident and was not expected to receive a citation or face any charges, Ruda said.
