“Jurassic World” Crosses Half-Billion Dollar In Domestic Ticket Sales:

Jurassic World continues to dominate the box office.

“Jurassic World” crossed the half-billion dollar mark in domestic sales today, and the genetically re-engineered dinos dominated the box office returns for a third straight week.

The Jurassic rerun edged out “Inside Out” for the first place spot this weekend: $54.2 million to $52.1 million, according to studio projections forwarded by the industry analysis firm, Rentrak.

“Ted 2” debuted in third place with $32.9 million. And “Max” premiered in fourth place, with a $12.2 million start.

Rounding out the 10 top movies this weekend, in the United States and Canada and as reported by Rentrak, were “Spy” ($7.8 million), “San Andreas” ($5.3 million), “Dope” ($2.8 million), “Insidious Chapter 3” ($2 million), “Mad Max: Fury Road” ($1.7 million) and “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” ($1.6 million).
