Latest police, crime and courts news.

A 47-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to commit specified sex offenses on Saturday, July 4.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received notification that a resident of a domicile located in the 2600 block of 25th St. required assistance at 2:10 am in escorting guests away from the building.

These guests had been attending a party at the location.

When the officers arrived they noticed that a man was being pushed out of the front door while at the same time a woman was being pulled back into the residence seemingly against her will.

The officers noted that the door was then slammed shut after the woman had been forced back into the home.

A few moments later the door suddenly swung open again and the same woman ran out of the building accompanied by another man. The officers approached the residence and investigated.

The officers discovered that the woman was a professional stripper and that the male resident had demanded that the stripper perform some specified sexual acts with him.

The stripper had refused to oblige this man and it was at that time that the resident had pulled the stripper back into the home and assaulted her with the intent to commit a forced sexual act.

Based upon the statements of the victim and witnesses the officers arrested this man and he was later charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to commit specified sex offenses. Bail was set at $100,000.
