L.A. city firefighters today knocked down a stubborn blaze at a commercial building in Westwood, authorities said.
The fire at the three-story commercial building at 10537 W. Santa Monica Blvd. was reported at 6:45 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The bulk of the flames were quickly extinguished, Stewart said. But flames continued to burn in the walls and in the floor of the building’s second story, she said.
The department dispatched 58 firefighters, who extinguished the fire in 46 minutes, Stewart added. No injuries were reported.
Arson inspectors were called to the scene to investigate, Stewart said. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
