FootballCharles Gordon, a star on the 2001 Santa Monica High football team, has declared for the NFL draft, foregoing his senior year at Kansas. He was a star receiver and defensive back there. His NFL position is yet to be determined.The quest of former Santa Monica College receiver Steve Smith to play in a Super Bowl for the second time came to an end when Carolina lost to Seattle in the NFC championship game Sunday, 34-14.
