Santa Monica Police Lieutenant Frank Fabrega was recently appointed to a two year term on the Los Angeles Regional Council of the American Cancer Society, a volunteer board representing a spectrum of professionals who oversee the Society’s fundraising, advocacy, education and patient services programs in L.A. County.Fabrega is a prostate cancer survivor and has chaired the Society’s Santa Monica Relay For Life event for the past five years. Under his leadership the event has raised more than $440,000 for cancer research, early detection, education, advocacy and free patient services programs. Lt. Fabrega recently represented the American Cancer Society on the televison show. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” at the remodeling of an El Segundo police officer’s home.
