Bold Harsh and Intriguing at Hale Arts:

“Dodge” Printed Canvas – Matthew Ehrmann

haleARTS S P A C E is extending an open invitation to their latest group show reception featuring works by Matthew Ehrmann, Mark Lowrie, Abbie Weinberg, and Gail Willhardt.

The opening event will be held Friday, February 19, from 5-8pm.

“My colorful, graphic images highlight my travels throughout the American West. I find beauty in the humble and unexpected – from deserted motel signs to desolate landscapes spotted with signs of life. My artwork attempts to capture forgotten moments in time.” – Matthew Ehrmann.

“I have been a photographer and award-winning editor for over 30 years, experimenting with montage techniques and exploring the lands I love, notably the American Southwest. As far as I know, I am the only artist doing exactly what I am doing: assembling stacked montages I call ‘Photosculpture’. – Mark Lowrie.

“Life is mysterious at times. The door or stairway leading to nowhere, abandoned civilizations left in ruins, piles of bones with no story to tell… The ambiance, sense, and phenomena of this mystery is what I am attempting to capture. Also, I am striving to connect with this mystery, to discover and reveal what transpires within the medium of clay. – Abbie Weinberg.

“The beauty of Malibu just knocks me out. I never tire of it. Often, I want to stop people and say, “Wow, look at that!” That’s what I try to do in my paintings – get them to look at things they don’t usually see.” – Gail Willhardt.
