New West Symphony To Present Tchaikovsky Fourth: Concert Will Also Feature Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 Performed By Award-Winning Pianist Ko-Eun Yi

The New West Symphony will perform Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s towering Symphony No. 4 in three performances March 31, April 1 and April 2.  The Masterpiece Series concert, conducted by music director Marcelo Lehninger, will also include music by Frédéric Chopin and local Los Angeles composer Adam Schoenberg.

Korean pianist Ko-Eun Yi will make her New West Symphony debut as guest soloist

in a performance of Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 in E Minor for Piano and Orchestra. Canto, a recent work by local composer Adam Schoenberg will also be presented. The concert is being sponsored by  Keyboard Concepts.

The first performance is Thursday, March 31 at 7:30 pm at Barnum Hall, located at 600 Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica. The program will be repeated on Friday, April 1 at 8:00 pm at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center located at 800 Hobson Way in Oxnard, and on Saturday, April 2 at 8:00 pm at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd. in Thousand Oaks.  

Tickets priced from $29 to $102 are available by phone, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at 1-866-776-8400.  Tickets are also available in person at the New West Symphony office,   

9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and through the Symphony web site 24/7 at newwestsymphony.org.  

Tickets are also available at the respective concert hall box offices.

Hear & Now Live:  These lively and informative, 30-minute pre-concert discussions about the music on the program begin one hour prior to the performances.  The programs are free and open to ticket holders for the respective performances.
