Summer Fun at the Annenberg Community Beach House:

Looking for relaxation, recreation or a bit of both this summer?  The Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica is the place for you, with plenty of opportunities for a great day at the beach. 

New this summer!  Playapalooza, for ages 12 and up, June 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. will get you ready for summer with an intro to water safety, body boarding and body surfing, slacklining, beach volleyball and other beach sports.  Free, with registration requested.

Returning Favorites! Try Slacklining with varying heights of lines set up in the sand each Monday, Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.   Looking for a summer read?  On July 8 and August 15 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Santa Monica Public Library at the Beach will provide beachgoers with great reads and family friendly programs.  Sunset Swim, for ages 18 and up, on the 2nd Friday evening in July, August and September (7/8, 8/12 & 9/9) from 7 p m. – 10 p.m.  Enjoy good old fashioned fun and epic tug-o-war at the 4th annual Beach House Community Picnic, Thursday, July 28 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Set sail across the historic pool on Saturday, August 27 for the 5th annual Cardboard Yacht Regatta. Teams of two race their cardboard and duct tape yachts and vie for a variety of fun awards.  Registration is $15 per team.  Spectators are welcome!  Slip into the Game Room, open daily starting at 11 a.m. to beat the heat or try your hand at ping-pong and other complimentary games for kids of all ages.  Peak into the past and explore the Beach House legacy on a free visit to the Marion Davies Guest House with the Santa Monica Conservancy.  Enjoy free performances of We (or Us) with ensemble in residence Post Mortem Movement Theater, July 13 – 15 and 20 – 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the Guest House.  Every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p. m., free Beach=Cultureevents offer a rich variety of outstanding artistry with free concerts, performances, dance halls, and readings.

2016 Summer Pool Schedule & Rates The pool will be open Memorial Day, May 28 – 30 and June 4 – 5 from          10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  June 10 through September 5 the pool will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Dollar Splash Monday with $1 per person pool admission is every Monday, excluding holidays when regular rates apply.  Pool rates are Adults $10; Youth (1 – 17) $4; Seniors (60+) $5.  First come, first served pool passes go on sale daily at9:00 a.m. at Guest Services.

Summer Hours and Activities Beach House grounds will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. including courtyards, view deck, splash pad, accessible play area, and beach courts for volleyball, tennis and soccer.  Check out Back on the Beach Café and the Beach Rentals Cart for summer essentials like boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas. Families and kids of all ages can enjoy free Monday Fun Day activities from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free Beach=Culture performances and events, including Dance Halls, concerts, talks, and performance, will take place every Tuesday evening with reservations required.

Summer Classes On land or in the water, classes are offered for all ages including Synchronized Swimming with the Aqualillies, Semi-Private Swim Lessons for youth, Beach Volleyball with co-ed classes for adults and youth, Soccer Shots for youth, or Yoga (ages 12 and up) with an ocean view. 

Reservations Reservations are never required to visit the Beach House.  Limited pool reservations are available Tuesdays – Sundays, and limited parking reservations are available daily. Pool, parking, court and field reservations may be made one – three days in advance. Canopies on the sand may be reserved up to two weeks in advance. Pool and parking reservations must be redeemed by 11 a.m. Reservations are made online at annenbergbeachhouse.com/reservations

. The majority of parking, pool passes, and half the courts, fields and canopies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
