Veteran fund-raising professional Elizabeth Stacey has joined the RAND Corporation as executive director of development.In announcing the appointment, RAND president and CEO James A. Thomson said: “Elizabeth will be a trusted member of the senior team at RAND and will lead our efforts in raising philanthropic funds so RAND is able to address some of the world’s most critical and urgent problems.” Stacey was previously chief consultant at Philanthropic Solutions, where she advised a range of national and local nonprofit organizations. Prior to that, she was director of development at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA. In 1998, she forged the development program for the new California State University, Channel Islands. She also worked for 10 years at CARE, the international relief and development organization, as Western Regional Director. Stacey earned her M.A. in political science from the UCLA, and is certified as a fund raising executive and specialist in planned giving.RAND, a non-profit research organization, is based in Santa Monica, and has offices in this country, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Qatar.
