Los Angeles Veterans for Peace set up Arlington West memorial, north of Santa Monica pier, on Saturday morning through Sunday evening, November 11 and 12, in honor of Veterans Day. At noon on Saturday, VFP led a procession of flag-draped coffins along Palisades Park to the Veterans Memorial, along Wilshire Boulevard, through the Third Street Promenade and back to the memorial. Other participants included peace activist Ron Kovic, Gold Star Families for Peace (families who have lost loved ones in Iraq), Iraq Veterans Against War and community supporters. A candlelight vigil took place at the memorial on Saturday night.
