Why Pick Santa Monica for Your Job Relocation?

Your career is flourishing and now your company wants to send you to a city of your choice to set up a new division. Where should you go?

It’s not an easy decision to make because there are so many beautiful cities in the United States. But if you’re looking for an eco-friendly metropolis with year-round sunshine, iconic beaches, and plenty of green spaces, then Santa Monica should be on the top of your list. And if you love art, love shopping, and love fine dining, then consider it a done deal.

If you decide to move to Santa Monica, here are some tips to make the most of your time in this wonderful city.

How to Meet New People

Before the pandemic, all you had to do to meet new people was to go to events where you could mingle with people who shared your hobbies or interests. Fortunately, it’s still possible to reach out to join a new community online. Social media websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and NextDoor can help you network.

While you are probably familiar with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, you may not have heard about NextDoor. It’s a social platform to connect, share information, and communicate with real neighbors. The app helps people moving to a new city discover a welcoming environment, and its forums automatically flag any hurtful posts by users on social issues. NextDoor racism guidelines make the app an enjoyable place for everyone.

Where to Go and What to Do

Santa Monica is a picturesque city by the ocean that has plenty of interesting places to go and things to do.

Here is a quick overview of some things you can do in or around Santa Monica.

Hang Out at the Beach

Santa Monica’s state beaches, such as North Beach, South Beach, and Will Rogers State Beach, are well known throughout Southern California.  For a long time, there was not much else to do besides hanging out at the beach — and then Santa Monica’s beaches experienced a delicious evolution, when many delightful wine bars and gourmet eateries opened up within walking distance.

Check Out New Restaurants

Santa Monica always has plenty of great places to dine. One of the latest to open is Piccolo. Executive chef and co-owner, Antonio Mure, has opened two locations in this metropolitan area. One is at 2127 Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica and the other restaurant at 1616 Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice. The restaurant chain is famous for its selection of fine wines and gourmet Italian dishes.

Wander Around Fabulous Shopping Districts

Santa Monica has developed a reputation as a city with some of the best shopping districts in California.

If you’re looking for boutiques, then you’ll find plenty along Montana Avenue and Main Street. Meanwhile, some renowned shopping districts in the downtown area include Santa Monica Place and Third Street Promenade.

Since the city offers so many shopping options, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the selection. You may want to consult an online shopping guide to filter by category and budget if you have some particular purchases in mind.

Explore Historic Landmarks

If you’re a history buff, then you’ll love discovering Santa Monica’s famous landmarks, with many of these spectacular structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For instance, you’ll enjoy the evocative architectural style of the Charmont Apartments, which was built in 1928 by Max Maltzman, and the Georgian Hotel, which was built in 1933 by Harry J. Borde.

By and large, Santa Monica is a great place to move if you can choose your next job relocation. It’s not only a thriving business hub, but it also offers fabulous weather, a beautiful environment, and plenty of wonderful things to do around the city.
