Summer 2022 reopening for The Rooster on West Adams Boulevard
By Dolores Quintana
A former Santa Monica restaurant from famed restaurateur Bruce Marder will be reopening in West Adams.
According to their website and What Now Los Angeles, The Rooster Bakery and Cafe will be returning to the local restaurant scene with a new location in West Adams.
The bakery’s motto is “Ancient Method, Modern Cuisine” and opened in Santa Monica in 2018. Bruce Marder, the owner of Rooster and three other restaurants, Capo, Cora’s Coffee Shop, and Marvin, plans on a summer 2022 re-opening at 5135 West Adams Boulevard.
The menu will include baked goods, bagels, croissants, muffins, classic European breads, coffee, with soups, sandwiches, pasta and their Black Board selections that offer cheese and cured meats selections, smoked salmon, and a pata negra bellota baguette tomato toast meant to be shared and dessert options.
Marder, a restaurateur since 1972, opened Venice’s West Beach Café in 1972 and is currently operating Capo and Cora’s Coffee Shoppe–both in Santa Monica–in addition to Baja Norte in Brentwood.
