Team Santa Monica Hosted Recent Meet:

The 2007-08 swim season is underway, and Team Santa Monica hosted its first meet at SMC’s Santa Monica Swim Center on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28.

Team Santa Monica faced hundreds of swimmers from neighboring communities, including West Hollywood and Culver City.

The participants were between 6 and 18. Team Santa Monica fared well in the meet. Winners included Brendan Casey, 10, Angella Chen, 13, Jonathan Lait, 14, Andi Murez, 15, Kevin Suarez, 14, George Sun, 15, and Sydney Wong, 11.

Said Team Santa Monica coach Jon Carroll, “We did a very good job of defending our home turf. There is a certain comfort to being able to compete in the pool where we practice everyday, and the kids did a wonderful job.”
