SMC Improves Record to 9-3:

The Santa Monica College men’s basketball team has a 9-3 record following play in the Rio Hondo Tournament.

SMC won two games and lost one in the tournament, coming back from a 59-57 loss to Los Angeles City College to defeat West LA, 67-48, and Glendale, 77-70.

The Corsairs will play in the Saddleback and College of the Desert tournaments this month before returning home January 2 to oppose Pierce College at 7:30 p.m.

The Corsairs were 11-17 last season, but are off to a fast start under the direction of first-year head coach Jessie Teplitzky.
