Join Urban Jungle for Tomatomania This Weekend

Nursery Celebrates 2 Years of Growth, Green Living

Spring is in full bloom. And the highly-anticipated Tomatomania — the world’s largest traveling heirloom tomato seedling sale — is happening now through May.

Urban Jungle, a participating vendor in Santa Monica, will host its Tomatomania event March 27-29 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring a variety of farm-to-nursery tomato plants, including heirlooms and new varieties.

“This spring, we’re feeling refreshed and excited for Tomatomania — it’s one of the most fun events of the year,” Tracey said. “The excitement Tomatomania brings to Urban Jungle as people are shopping for their favorite or new varieties of tomatoes and seedlings is amazing. We’re hoping to draw even more people than last year.”

Urban Jungle, founded by Tracey and Mark Marriott, features a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, succulents and locally sculpted pottery.

An unrivaled selection from exotic rarities to familiar favorites, Urban Jungle’s collection is diverse and hand-picked for its health and vibrancy. Most of the outdoor plants — and herbs and tomato seedlings — found at Urban Jungle started from the soil of the couple’s 14-acre farm in Los Angeles.

Anniversary Celebration

Greenery, community and connection mark the upcoming two-year anniversary of Urban Jungle. This April, the family-owned nursery will enter its next chapter with confidence, supported by a strong and growing community.

“We feel very much a part of the community in every way — with how often we have return customers visiting the store, we know that people love being part of the Jungle and we feel the same. Two years strong, this whole experience has been incredibly fulfilling,” said Tracey.

The annual celebration is scheduled for April 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The all-day event will include food, beverages, plant giveaways and a warm community atmosphere for both longtime supporters and first-time visitors.

“Our annual anniversary celebration signifies how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings,” Tracey said. “We are a growing business, passionate about the work we do and we couldn’t do it without the support of the community.”

More Than Plants

With Tomatomania and the nursery’s anniversary approaching, this time of year represents more than just a busy season for Urban Jungle — it reflects growth, connection and community.

“For greenery, plants and color — especially as spring planting gets underway — Urban Jungle is your central hub for all things spring,” Tracey said.

As plant lovers look to refresh their spaces, Urban Jungle offers a mix of blooming plants and practical options. Bright annuals, salvias and lavender add color to patios and small outdoor spaces, while herbs, vegetables and low-maintenance plants provide an accessible starting point for gardening.

“Even in small spaces, gardening is within reach. Container gardens allow people with smaller homes to grow their own food and greenery with ease,” Tracey said. “There’s so much you can do.”
