Heal the Bay to Hold Annual Gala:

The regional environmental group Heal the Bay will welcome 1,200 members and guests to its 17th annual “Bring Back the Beach” benefit dinner on Thursday, May 29.

Actors Julia Louis-Drefyus, Amy Smart, John McGinley, David Chokachi, Ingo Rademacher; food and wine stars Joachim Splichal and Jeff Kunde; L.A. Kings captain Rob Blake; Rep. Brad Sherman and state Sen. Sheila Kuehl; and visual artist Chris Jordan are among confirmed guests.

The dinner honors civic leaders who work to protect Southern California’s oceans and surrounding watersheds. This year’s honorees are H. David Nahai, CEO and general manager of Los Angeles’ Department of Water and Power; Don Corsini, general manager of local broadcast stations KCBS and KCAL; and Tom Unterman, founder and managing partner of venture capital firm Rustic Canyon Partners.

The dinner will be held in Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport, with “Blue Carpet” arrivals scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m.

Heal the Bay is a Santa Monica-based environmental group dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds safe, healthy and clean.
