St. Monica played three games in the St. Paul Easter Tournament, defeating Cerritos High, 9-8 and losing to Warren, 11-5 and Calvary Chapel, 5-3.Jose Munoz is batting .529 and Kyle Schwan is batting .400 and leads the team in RBI with 16.Crossroads added to its fast start in the 2009 season by defeating Animo, 7-1 and Brentwood, 13-9. To defeat Brentwood Crossroads had to overcome deficits of 4-1 and 7-5.There’s been plenty of action in New Roads’ April games. First, a 14-12 win over Community Chatter, then a 17-7 loss to Vasquez and a 15-14 loss to St. Genevieve followed by a 30-3 rout of Verbum Dei.Jake Flynn has a .643 batting average and 15 RBI. Quinn Barbini is hitting .500.Pacifica Christian improved its record to 4-2 with a 17-0 win over Westview of West Los Angeles. Keenan Pierandozzi-Howes has a .556 batting average and Kevin Hammer is hitting .524.Brentwood defeated Buckley, 8-6 before its loss to Crossroads. The team is 5-7 overall.Mikey Wapnick is batting .417, Scott Milne .351 and Billy Heller .349.Palisades defeated Fairfax, 6-2 to improve its Western League record to 3-0. In non-league games the Dolphins lost to Coronado, 1-0 and St. Paul, 7-6.
