Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica To Host Annual Auction, Dinner Nov. 1:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica (BGCSM) will host its 38th Annual Auction & Dinner on Friday, Nov. 1st, to raise funds in order to continue to provide impactful programs and services to thousands of disadvantaged Los Angeles-area youth.

By giving the children who need it most a safe and nurturing environment to develop and learn, SMBGC enables youth to reach their full potential as caring, responsible and productive citizens.

The Auction & Dinner, presented by US Bank, will be held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in Santa Monica.

This year’s event will honor local real estate businessman John D. (Jack) Jones who recently donated $1 million to the BGCSM, and the Community Corporation of Santa Monica, a nonprofit organization that develops and manages affordable housing.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica has a long tradition of giving our youth the tools and support they need be successful in life. We focus on developing the whole child, not just academically, but also in the areas of technology, self-improvement, sports, health, community involvement and leadership skills,” says Aaron Young, CEO and President of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica. “The continued success of our programs and services would not be possible without the long-term support of our amazing donors, sponsors and partners.”

In addition to a lively dance display by children from the BGCSM’s Mar Vista Garden Branch, this year’s event will feature a special performance by Louis Price, former lead signer of the Temptations. Louis will take the stage to sing Stand by Me, while individuals and companies literally “stand up for kids” by generously donating the needed funds to reach as many children in the LA area as possible, and to improve their chances of having a great future.

Another highlight of the event is the live auction where guests can bid on fantastic packages such as “Be a NASCAR Driver for a Day,” a seven-night stay at a private Villa in Bali, a dinner party for 25 at The Galley in Santa Monica, a two-year lease of a Lexus CT 200h from Lexus Santa Monica, and a game of Horse with Michael Cooper from the Lakers.
