L.A. County Gasoline Prices Rise Again:

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the seventh consecutive day, increasing 3.8 cents to $2.958.

The average price has risen 21.1 cents over the past seven days, including 2.9 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The increases follow a 13-day streak of decreases totaling 5.2 cents, which dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 11.

The average price is 14.7 cents more than one month ago and 22.7 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose for the eighth consecutive day today, increasing 4.5 cents to $2.964. It has risen 23.7 cents over the past eight days, including 2.3 cents on Wednesday.

The increases follow a stretch of 10 decreases in 12 days totaling 4.7 cents, dropping the average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 10.

The Orange County average price is 23.3 cents more than one week ago, 19.2 cents higher than one month ago and 27.2 cents greater than one year ago.

The rising prices are the result of “refinery glitches and production issues” reducing the supply, Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, told City News Service.
