Out Of The Box. On Friday, August 5, at 10:52 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department rushed to investigate a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 1100 block of 24th Street. The officers learned that the reporting party had spotted the suspected burglar attempting to “jimmy” open the rear door of a nearby residence and that the reporting party had confronted the suspect about what he was doing.
