Construction of Phase 2 of the Expo Light Rail Line to Santa Monica is steaming forward with work crews turning their attention to the intersection of Bundy Drive and Exposition Boulevard for the installation of the falsework for the Bundy Bridge.
Construction will take place this Monday, April 15 through Thursday, May 16.
Works hours will be 9 pm to 6 am Sunday through Thursday.
Construction crews will erect falsework using timber and steel forms as a mold for the cast-in place concrete bridge that will span over Bundy Drive.
Falsework installation will be completed in phases and is expected to be completed in two weeks within the time frame provided.
Starting Monday, additional K-rail will be installed on the center of Bundy Drive at the Expo ROW crossing.
The intersection of Bundy Drive and Exposition Boulevard will remain open to vehicles and pedestrian traffic throughout these activities, however, left turns through the intersection will be prohibited throughout the bridge construction.
Starting April 21, northbound and southbound Bundy Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Olympic Boulevard to Tennessee Avenue; eastbound and westbound Exposition Boulevard will remain open – however left turns through the intersection will be prohibited throughout the bridge construction.
The work is being managed and performed by the Expo Phase 2 design-build contractor Skanska-Rados Joint Venture, and its subcontractors.
