Brentwood Runs Right By Malibu, 47-0:

The running of Kevin Yamazaki and solid defensive play were too much for a Brentwood opponent again.

Brentwood defeated Malibu High Friday, 47-0, as Yamazaki gained 247 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns. He gained 210 yards in the first half and played sparingly after that.

With its running game so successful, Brentwood attempted only seven passes. Tight end Austin Marrs caught two for touchdowns.

Brentwood (4-1) has one more non-league game remaining. It will play at long-time rival Pasadena Poly Saturday at 2 p.m.

“Our first unit defense has given up just one touchdown in five games,” said Coach Patrick Brown. “Malcolm Henderson and Ian Shaw have been outstanding linebackers. Marrs and Andrew Boggs have shut down opponents as defensive ends.”

Henderson had six tackles against Malibu, which has a 2-3 record.

Two of Brentwood’s Delphic League rivals, Campbell Hall and Whittier Christian, are undefeated. Brentwood’s only loss was to Mojave.Malibu will play at Capistrano Valley Christian Friday.
