Lighthouse Defeated In Football Playoffs:

The remarkable run of Lighthouse Christian’s football team in 8-man competition came to an end last Friday.

Lighthouse Christian of Santa Monica had been undefeated in eight games when it went to Palm Springs and lost to Desert Chapel, 27-6 in the semi finals of the CIF playoffs.

Lighthouse scored at least 50 points in six games and exceeded 70 twice. Overall, in the season just ended, it scored 464 points and allowed 223.

Quarterback Nate Scribner led the team in passing and rushing. Norrin Kelly was second in rushing and Dan Massey was the leading receiver.While Lighthouse finished 8-1 Desert Chapel improved to 10-1. Its lone loss was to Riverside Christian, 37-24, in the fifth week of the season.
