Lighthouse Wins CIF Volleyball Championship:

Lighthouse Christian may be a small school in Santa Monica, but it is continuing a long history of success in athletics.

The girls’ volleyball team, which went undefeated in the Harbor League, won its second consecutive CIF Division XV championship last weekend with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-15 victory over Valley Christian of Santa Maria.

Sophomore Stephanie Sommers contributed 11 kills and senior Amanda Massey had seven.

In the previous round, Lighthouse took a four-hour bus ride to Big Pine and swept three sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-16.

Meanwhile, the Lighthouse Christian 8-man football team remains undefeated and is currently moving through the CIF playoffs too.The school is located on Yale Street north of Wilshire Boulevard.
