City partners with Rum and Humble for six-week Tongva Twilight series running Saturdays through September.

City event organizers and concert producers will launch a free, six-week outdoor entertainment program at Tongva Park featuring live musical performances and open-air movie screenings.
The Santa Monica concert series, titled Tongva Twilight: Sounds and Cinema, takes place every Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Aug. 8 through Sept. 12. Organized by the Santa Monica Recreation and Arts Department alongside production company Rum and Humble, the gatherings offer free community events on the ocean-facing park lawn.
“The new series reflects the City’s continued commitment to activating Santa Monica’s parks with free arts and cultural programming that brings neighbors together while celebrating the City’s vibrant creative community,” said Mayor Caroline Torosis.
Performances open Aug. 8 with ska jazz band Western Standard Time, followed by New Orleans funk group The Rumble on Aug. 15. Salsa orchestra Son Mayor performs Aug. 22 with a free pre-show dance lesson, and yacht rock tribute group The Windbreakers plays Sept. 5. Additional musical acts and featured film titles will be released in the coming weeks.
The late-summer programming follows recent city events at the site, including the Santa Monica International Jazz Festival in May and public gatherings hosted during the FIFA World Cup.
“It’s such a pleasure to work with the City of Santa Monica to bring Tongva Park alive with free music and movies this fall,” said Martin Fleischmann, producer of Tongva Twilight and founder of Rum & Humble. It’s no accident this series’ title hints at the City’s much-loved Twilight Concerts of the past. “Once again, we can gather in the cooling breeze under the stars and within earshot of the waves to enjoy specially curated concerts and films. So grab your friends, pack a picnic, and join us. We hope to see you there.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, and low-back lawn chairs to the park grounds, located steps from the ocean in downtown Santa Monica.
