Getty Show Pairs Weegee, Shulman:

The Getty Center has one of the largest, most comprehensive and most wide-ranging collections of photographs in the world, as it demonstrates vividly in the latest installment of its “American Visions” series.

The exhibit, which runs through January 22, features the gritty photos of Weegee, perhaps the most famous newspaper photographer of all time, who roamed New York City, shooting murder scenes, fires, riots and accidents, and the elegant, coolly composed photographs of Los Angeles architectural landmarks.

Now 95, Shulman has shot all the great buildings by all the great architects who lived and worked here, as well as documenting Los Angeles in all its guises.
