SMC Assistant Named WLA College Head Coach:

Craig Austin, an assistant football coach at Santa Monica College the last 10 years, has been named head coach at West Los Angeles College.

Austin primarily worked with the Corsair offense on Robert Taylor’s staff and coached Chad Johnson and Steve Smith, who are now premier receivers in the National Football League.

Since SMC and West LA are both in the Western State Conference Southern Division the teams will oppose each other next season.
