Hearts on a Roll:

Amazon Hearts roared out of Marina del Rey last Saturday at the beginning of their Los Angeles to San Francisco ride. The organization, dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer, was formed in 2004 when 20 survivors joined together for a ride on their Harleys from San Diego to San Francisco.

Last week’s group, including one member who flew in from Australia for the event, spent a few days in Santa Monica before heading out on the open road. They slept at the International Youth Hostel and dined at Buca di Beppo and Yankee Doodles. On the first day of their ride, the women left the Marina, headed north on Pacific Coast Highway and arrived at their destination in Ventura in the late afternoon.
