Gallant Lighthouse Run Ends In CIF Semifinals:

A gallant playoff run against considerable odds came to an end when the Lighthouse Christian girls volleyball team lost in the CIF 5AA semi-finals to Baptist Christian of Hemet.

The team had six players go through a season in which the Harbor League co-champions were playing in a higher division than in previous years and had to cope with an injury to their star player. Reaching the semi-finals was a major accomplishment.

New Roads, which also went 9-1 in the league, was eliminated from the playoffs earlier.
