Homeless Feeding Progam Moves Indoors:

Hand to Hand, a volunteer group, most of whom are Agape members, served food for homeless guests at its new location, 6th and Colorado, on Saturday morning, November 18.

Volunteers provided a bag lunch, fresh fruit, a pastry and coffee. They also provided black trash bags, a pair of socks, a can opener, personal hygiene items and small bags of cat and dog food. Hand to Hand can now offer a bag-check room where clients can leave their bags while eating.

Hand to Hand has been providing food for homeless and needy residents of Santa Monica for fifteen years on the lawns of City Hall on Saturday mornings and on many holidays when social service agencies are closed.

The indoor location is clean and airy, and both Hand to Hand and their guests appeared happy with the arrangement. About 190 people were served lunch on Saturday.
