Brentwood’s Hansen Wins:

Logan Hansen has become the first girls’ tennis player in Brentwood School history to win a CIF individual championship.

Hansen, a junior, earned the title by defeating Alison Ramos of Troy High in Fullerton, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 last week at the Seal Beach Tennis Center.

In the semifinal, Hansen eliminated Marivick Valdeavilla of South Pasadena, 6-3, 6-1.

Hansen was a nationally ranked junior player in earlier years when she represented Santa Monica. But after enrolling at Brentwood she suffered several injuries which limited her play in the last two years.

There was a back injury and a wrist problem among other injuries, and she went eight months without playing.

However, she came back well and will have another year of high school tennis.
