For his annual alumni basketball game involving former Santa Monica College players, John McMullen divided the teams into players from 1998 on and players from before that year.
The team called “the old guys” defeated the younger ones Saturday, January 13, 79-68, in Corsair Pavilion.
McMullen, who retired as coach three seasons ago, is the winningest coach in SMC basketball history. He worked on the alumni game for two months. Eighteen players participated, some coming from other states.
