What’s the Story Festival, February 8-18, times vary

What’s the Story is a monthly performance workshop where writers, performers and other artists create and perform solo works. Held at The Powerhouse Theatre and run by Stacie Chaiken, the workshop will be holding its very first festival and welcomes the public to come and witness the fun. The first week features Alan Rachins (February 8-9), Lisa Marie Sandoval (February 10-11) and Jennifer Pagan (February 10-11).

Whale of a Weekend, February 10-11, 12:30-5pm

If any member of the family wants to learn about whales, Heal the Bay’s aquarium on the pier is the place to be this weekend. Activities will include a whale watching station at the west end of the pier, arts and crafts, plankton tow demonstrations, blubber fun, stories, films, talks and more, all dedicated to the 30-40 ton gray whale, one of the largest mammals alive today.
