New Roads Takes Harbor League Lead:

New Roads has taken the Harbor League baseball lead after opening with two wins.

         New Roads defeated Community Harvest Charter, 8-1, and Shalhevet, 10-0. The Jaguars are 6-2 overall and are led by Ichiro Yamada with a .421 batting average and Randall Irwin at .409.

         In other Westside baseball, St. Monica defeated La Salle, 5-3 to end a three-game losing streak. The Mariners are 7-11 overall, including 2-5 in league games.

         Michael Duval is batting .485.

         Crossroads rallied for a 5-4 win over Maranatha, bringing the Roadrunners’ record to 6-7.       Trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the sixth, Crossroads scored two runs, then added three in the seventh.
