Patti Smith, August 16, 7:30pm

Yet another solid addition to the Santa Monica Pier’s terrifically successful Twilight Dance Series, punk priestess Patti Smith is, without question, a rock and roll original. Along with legendary acts such as the Talking Heads, the Ramones, Blondie and the Velvet Underground, Smith helped spearhead the New York punk scene of the ’70s. To this day, she sings with all the fiery passion and sincerity one can muster. Count on her to please old fans while initiating droves of new ones too.
