St. Monica Tournament Returns:

More than a decade ago, the St. Monica boys basketball tournament was an annual fixture in Westside sports.

The tournament was discontinued, but it is being brought back in the school’s campus gym. An eight-team field will begin play Tuesday, November 27, with St. Monica opening against Wildwood at 3:30 p.m. St. Monica has four returning starters and is expected to be strong.

There will be four games on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday that week, and the championship game on Saturday.

The tournament’s six other teams will be Cathedral, LACES, Bell-Jeff, Whitney, Waverly of Pasadena, and Community Charter of Van Nuys.
