On Thursday, December 20, Heal the Bay and a coalition of environmental and community organizations held “A Day Without a Bag” to encourage residents throughout LA County to use reusable bags instead of plastic. The Santa Monica Main Library gave bags to customers who asked for them; a sign was posted about the event, and quantities were limited. Stacy McClendon came to the library because of the event.
