Marelle hosts one-night-only live-grilling culinary collaboration on August 15.
Two acclaimed Westside chefs will bring their annual summer grilling tradition to the public next month during a one-night culinary event at beachside restaurant Marelle. Marelle has a wonderful outdoor patio perfect for summer evenings and perfect for just such a dinner. The restaurant is located inside the Sandbourne Santa Monica at 1740 Ocean Avenue.
Hosted by Marelle Executive Chef Raphael Lunetta and two-star Michelin Chef Josiah Citrin, “The Guest List” dinner takes place Saturday, August 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The collaborative menu pays homage to an annual backyard summer barbecue tradition the duo originally launched years ago at their former Santa Monica landmark restaurant, JiRaffe, and to their 45-year friendship.
The live-grilled feast features seasonal starters such as sliced ahi tuna and whipped feta, family-style sides showcasing local California produce, like heirloom tomato and rustic potato salads, and entree selections including jumbo prawns and dry-aged prime Brandt beef ribeye cooked over open fire. A brown butter peach crisp will conclude the meal, which begins with a welcome pour of Spanish Cava.
Tickets are priced at $120 per person, with an optional Spanish wine pairing available for an additional $35 per guest. You can make reservations at OpenTable.
