The St. Monica baseball team had three different outcomes in its first three games of the season – a win, a loss, and a tie.
The Mariners, led by veteran coach Jack White, tied North Hollywood High, 7-7, then were shut out by LA Baptist, 2-0, then defeated Morningside, 5-2.
Hector Santiesteban pitched the victory.
Brentwood defeated Salesian, 2-1, as Ben Oliva pitched the first six innings and Jared Talla picked up the win in relief.
In its second game of the season Brentwood defeated Kilpatrick, 22-0.
After losing its first two games, Crossroads shut out Buckley, 5-0. Then the Roadrunners defeated Viewpoint, 10-8.
