Brentwood Eyes Success in Baseball:

It was a memorable football season for Brentwood, which advanced to the CIF championship game in its division.

Now the Eagles’ baseball team is hoping to enjoy considerable success too, and a non-league 6-3 victory over Santa Monica has earned the team some attention.

In preparing for its Alpha League schedule, Brentwood has won four games and lost three.

Two football stars, receiver Ben Oliva and quarterback Mason Moss, are prominent players.

Oliva, a versatile all-CIF athlete, is batting .417, has stolen eight bases in eight attempts, has made the most starts (4), pitched the most innings (22), and won the most games (2) on the mound.

Moss is batting .278 and has stolen two bases.

Jared Tella is the Eagles’ leading hitter (.538), and has hit four home runs and pitched one of the wins. Billy Heller also has been credited with a win.

It’s another competitive squad for coach Rob Cannone.
