Driver Killed On Ocean Park Boulevard:

A 38-year-old man was killed in what appears to be a single-vehicle traffic accident in the 2600 block of Ocean Park Boulevard in the very early hours of Sunday, March 30. Santa Monica Police responded at approximately 1:00 a.m. that morning and found a 2008 Infiniti FX-35 sport utility vehicle that had evidently collided with a large tree in the center median of the street.

The driver, who has been identified as Keoni Lucas of West Los Angeles, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to police. “At this time, it does not appear that any other vehicle was involved in the accident,” said Lt. Alex Padilla, SMPD spokesman.

Investigators from the Santa Monica Police Department Major Accident Reconstruction Team (MART) responded and are investigating the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
