Softball Roundup:

The Venice High softball team improved its winning streak to 10 games by defeating University High, 15-2, as Danielle Mestas pitched a complete game and had 12 strikeouts.

Mestas and Jasmine McNeal each hit a home run.

Palisades High lost a Western League game to Westchester, 7-4.

New Roads opened Harbor League play by defeating Shalhevet, 9-5. The team’s only other game this season was a 12-9 victory over Highland Hall. New Roads will play at Crossroads on April 29.
