Jeremiah Roiko Band, which features drummer Perry Ostrin of Perry’s Drumming Podcast, does it all, from the blues-based numbers like “Crossroads Jam” and “Baby Before You Go” to a cover of the Police’s hit “So Lonely” that amps up the reggae influence of the original. Fans of funky jams will have two opportunities to check out the band this week. In addition to an electric performance on Friday night, Jeremiah Roiko Band will play an unplugged performance the following Tuesday as part of Brennan’s Acoustic Tuesdays hosted by bassist Son Vo.

Get on the Good Foot: A Tribute to James Brown

For decades, James Brown laid down the foundation of dance music with his use of intense rhythm sections, powerful vocals, and heart-racing performances. Pay homage to the late, great Godfather of Soul with the crew from weekly party Funky in the Middle this Thursday night at Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice. Resident DJs Wiseacre and Mr. Caparro will be playing sets culled from Brown’s extensive catalog throughout the night.
