1. A spectacular fireworks show lit up the evening sky during the Pacific Wheel dedication ceremony on Wednesday at Pacific Park. The new Ferris wheel cost $1.5 million and is the only solar-powered Ferris wheel in the world. It has 160,000 LED lights and is 75 percent more energy-efficient than its predecessor. 2. Shriver was present to receive a $65,000 check for the Special Olympics.
